Gambaran Perilaku Adiksi Internet, Faktor yang Memfasilitasi serta Dampaknya pada Mahasiswa
Abstract
Internet addiction is a syndrome characterized by uncontrolled behavior in using the internet which can result in significant changes that disrupt a person's daily routine. People who exhibit this syndrome will feel anxious, depressed and empty when they can not access the internet. This study aims to describe internet addiction behavior, the facilitating factors and the impact of internet addiction on students. This study used qualitative method with retrospective case study approach. The results and conclusions of this study indicate that the three informants have fulfilled all of the six indicators of internet addiction namely salience, mood modification, tolerance, withdrawal, conflict and relapse. Internet addiction in students is influenced by internal and external factors, including; personality dynamics, patterns of student needs (need for information, communication and entertainment), low self-control, Gen-D factors, accessibility, affordability, content factors, reinforcement / reward factors and lack of parental control. Meanwhile, the impact of internet addiction on students includes social, psychological, physiological, academic, financial and spiritual dimensions.
